Station Message
From Monday 11 March 2024, the lift to platforms 4 and 5 at Bolton station is being replaced. During this time, passengers travelling from Bolton towards Preston, Blackpool and Cumbria will need to travel via Salford Crescent for step-free access. Passengers are advised to use the lift to platforms 1 and 3, to travel to Salford Crescent and use the step-free access there to head northbound.
Passengers who need step-free access are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and where possible, book assisted travel in advance with their train operator. Extra staff will be at the station to help passengers safely use the stairs.

This station is category B2. Step free access is available throughout the station, however customers should note that access to platforms 2 and 3 is via a barrow crossing which is reliant upon staff assistance, and cannot be accessed outside of staffed hours. This station is partially staffed. There are train boarding ramps available at this station, and they are also carried on board all TransPennine Express trains.
